I got this freezer at my local Kroger believe it or not. It was on sale for 0 and they were running a deal if you bought in Kroger-brand frozen items, they took another off the price of the freezer. At first I was going to just pay the 0 for the freezer and call it a successful day, but then I decided 0 for the freezer AND food was a pretty sweet deal. I had to stash the food in a cooler until the freezer was ready, but it has been nice to have the added space. It is just my husband and I in the house, a bigger family would probably need a bigger unit. This is big enough to allow me to stock up on sale items and it is not so big that I forget what is in it. It sits in our basement, runs quietly and efficiently. It is towards the more efficient end, using 247 kWh/year (range from 185 to 357) which is .40 at 10.65 cents/kWh.

I actually picked this product up at [...] for a little less that here online and so I didn’t have the packaging issues. I actually thought it was adequately packaged coming from a store.

So far so good in how it works–I like the basket and it fits more that I thought it would.

Two reasons why I am giving four-stars instead of five.
1. The cord is a little short–maybe this is standard length, but I think its a bit short and we had to get a little creative on placement and how to plug it in.
2. The other thing that is not major since it is in the basement now, but was annoying when it was in the garage is that it makes a whirring sound. My parents used to have a chest freezer and I never remember it making that kind of noise.

Overall a pretty good product that I would definitely recommend!

Great little freezer, just be careful about the shippin – Gwynne Lacey –
I ordered this freezer in February. Amazon initially shipped it by FedEx, and FedEx sent it back to them damaged. Amazon refunded me the shipping cost, and sent a new one.

The second one was also damaged in transit, though FedEx didn’t catch it, and when I found out after removing it from the box, I couldn’t send it back, because it’s considered a hazardous material.

During shipping, the cord was sliced clean through. Amazon handled it wonderfully though, telling me to keep the freezer and do whatever with it, and giving me a full refund of my money.

I was actually able to replace the cord, and I’ve used it ever since. The wheels make it easy to move around if necessary, and it holds a good lot of food.

The picture is a bit deceptive, it’s actually quite a bit wider than is shown in the image.

I did read the reviews and ignored them. The fridge I got had 2 cosmetic dents and one of the feet was dented making it impossible to balance. In addition, I was incorrectly shipped the 3.5 foot version. Amazon was kind enough to offer a “satisfaction guarantee” however shipping cost me 0 and they only credited me . In their defense, I’m certain that once I call them and provide the bill, they will credit me the full amount.

My advice, read the reviews and consider them carefully before making a decision.

I bought this to try to organize my fridge a little better. They are a good idea and they do work well as far as rolling forward to retrieve items. However, they don’t hold much. You really can’t get the bottles of pickles and condiments more than one across. They just won’t fit. They just need to make this a bit wider.

I like the foil cutter and the ease of operation of the unit. It easily pulls the corks (synthetic and otherwise) out of wine bottles with no problems. The base of the unit that goes around the neck of the bottle seems a bit flimsy to me, however. I fear for its longevity. But, as long as it is operating, I like that it is easy to use and smaller than the traditional Rabbit.
